Today the Exchange Club of Milwaukee welcomed two esteemed guests to our annual awards luncheon.
The first guest was Jack Woodland from Acuity Insurance who was there to accept the "Proudly We Hail" award. Acuity is very diserving of this award and anyone who has driven on 43 North with agreed. Last year Acuity errected the worlds largest symbol of freedom right outside their front door and on a major highway for everyone
to see. We thank Acuity for their commitment to Americanism and proudly displaying the American Flag.
The second award was given to Dr. Fox of Penfield Children's Center Behavior Clinic. Dr. Fox was given the Book of Golden Deeds award for his committment to helping others. Dr, Fox
was joined by Jim Ryan, President of Penfield, Patti Grede Vice President of Programs and Katie Keller, Behavior Clinic.
Dr. Fox created the Behavior Clinic as a partnership between Penfield and Marquette University to fmilies whose children are
experiencing significant behavior problems. As partners with Penfield Children's Center we greatly appreciate Dr.
Fox's commitment to helping others especially as it relates to helping prevent potential child abise situations.

February 14th 2006 Crime Prevention Luncheon
This year the Milwaukee Exchange Club held it's 57th Annual Crime Prevention Awards luncheon
and it was a great success. This year's theme was Community Commitment for Safe Neighborhoods. We had a great
head table of features guests including Mayor Tom Barrett, Chief Nanette Hegerty, DA E. Michael McCann, Sherif Inspector Kevin
Carr and many others. This year's featured speaker was Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker who did a tremendous
job recognizing all of the entities that go into providing safe neighborhoods in our communities. Unfortunately, we
didn't get any pictures of this years event but once again we did get television coverage for the event.
December 13th 2005 Hunger Task Force Speaker
At today's meeting we had Jennifer Nkonga come and speak to us about the
hunger problem facing the city of Milwaukee. While they always push for donations and volunteers this year has been
a little more difficult with a large amount of support going to Hurricane victims. While the relief for the hurricane
effort is also a great cause, unfortuantely it doesn't mean other problems go away or are put on hold. The Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee is a great cause and any one interested in making a donation or volunteering
can get more information on their website.
November 6th 2005 1st Texas Hold'em Tournament
This
past Sunday the Exchange club held it's first ever Texas Hold'em tournament at the Wisconsin Club and while the Packers
didn't look very good some of the players in attendance looked liked seasoned veterans. With over 60 people putting
in their anty there was plently of action on and off the tables. The winner will be on his way to Las Vegas next year
to try and win a seat in the 2006 World Series of Poker. But the real winner was the Exchange Club which collected over
$3000 from the silent auction and other games. Look for this event to be repeated next year and when you see John Cobey
tell him congratulations on making it to the final 6 players!
April 30, 2005 First Dinner Dance
This Saturday the Downtown Club held it's first
annual dinner dance which was a great success. The event was held at The Wisconsin Club and there are some great pictures
of the fun.

March
29, 2005 Speaker Sister Connie Taylor of My Good Mourning Place
Today's
guest speaker was Sister Connie Taylor of My Good Mourning Place. As the name hints, My Good Mourning Place is a center
which works with volunteers and professionals to provide group interventions for bereaved children, teens and their adult
caregivers. The center is based on the successful Dougy Center model, which is used in over 130 children's bereavement
centers in the US and throughout the world. Sister Connie gave us all a look into My Good Mourning Place's daily
activities which include play, music, books all focused on helping the children express and process their feelings.
The center has been around for almost three years and has many great sponsors and volunteers but is always looking for more! Visit

30, 2004 New State Assembly Rep. Jason Fields
This
Tuesday's lunch meeting was highlighted by the amazing accomplishments of our student of the month, Joshua Rauch, and
our speaker, new Rep. Jason Fields. Jason shared his ideas for improving the City of Milwaukee along with his ideas
on state education. We wish Jason lots of luck with his inaguration in Janruary. Here he is pictured with Exchange Club President Jim Westphal and President
